Mobile Solutions

The main 3D Inspection System software may be used on a portable regular computer such as a laptop, netbook, Tablet PC, or Ultrabook.   3D Inspection Systems also has special mobile solutions for different types of smartphones and tablets.

If you wish to use a Windows Phone 7 or Android phone or tablet, you would use the Phone3D app. See Phone3D page for more details or to try it out for free.

(There is also legacy Pocket3D mobile software available for older Windows Mobile 5, 6, or 6.5 Pocket PC styled PDA or phones.)

See System Requirements page for information about compatible devices.  To provide the best user interface possible, all of our mobile apps are "natively" written specifically for the operating systems on which they are used.

General Information About Our Mobile Apps
Imagine inspecting a rooftop and observing various cracked roof tiles. You take your phone or tablet from its holster, and tap "Roof" and "Roof Covering Status:"  A convenient checksheet style layout outlines your most frequently used comment for efficient selection. You tap the word "Cracked" and your full comment text "Cracked roof tiles noted, recommend further evaluation by a roofing contractor." is automatically included in the report. With a single tap, you just filled in an entire comment. That's the power and efficiency of 3D Inspection System mobile apps!

Collect all your inspection data easily where it would be inconvenient to take a larger or heavier laptop...

As expected from any product bearing our name, you are not stuck using forms or a report format included by the app designer.  You start mobile inspections using any of your custom forms in your 3D Inspection System desktop software and send it to your PDA, whether residential, commercial, pest inspection, or other reports.  Complete them there and send them back.

Each report uses your custom statements and form layout!   Since each group of comments are organized by component or inspection category, the comment library viewed for each item is specific to the item being inspected, so you don't have to wade through 10,000 statements about things that you aren't inspecting at the moment! You only see comments related to what you are inspecting. Now that's Efficiency!

While inspecting using Phone3D, tap camera and instantly take your photo right into the inspection field where it belongs, with no further work on your part.

Add additional manual text, or import your selections to edit them further.  Use bookmarks to mark fields to return to later, either in your mobile device or in the final report on your main computer.  Replicate items, rooms, or components in your report to cover additional items as you need to.  Before leaving, navigate through any non-inspected items, or preview your report items or items specified to go to summary.

Update your inspection back to your main computer to add any final touches, merge your optional summary, and email or upload your inspection. Since you already collected your inspection information while on site, there’s no need to spend hours creating reports later.

For details about what type of device is suitable for our special mobile apps, view our Version & System Requirements page.

Of course, you must choose which model you like best.  We recommend checking out respective web sites, reviews, or trying them out at local computer stores or carriers. Ask your fellow inspectors what they like best about the models they use.

Try the Phone3D interface for Windows Phone 7 by just installing the app on your phone from the windows phone Marketplace.  Keep in mind the sample report provides a demonstration of the interface, but you would use your own customized forms from your main copy of 3D Inspection System software.
