The weekend of September 16-17 was the annual conference of the Great Plaines Chapter of ASHI, and we were happy to be represented with a little over 100 inspectors in attendance.   Carl Fowler reports:

"The weather was a bit chilly, but in spite of some clouds and rainy weather, the atmosphere inside the Crown Plaza hotel in Lenexa, KS was warm and welcoming. Eight vendors greeted attendees and we all started off with a full breakfast each morning before classes. Many inspectors come from neighboring states to attend this conference because its always packed full of great presentations and the hospitality of the chapter members is unmatched elsewhere.

Many of those in attendance also use 3D Inspection System software, so there was a high level of interest in the new mobile apps that 3D has released for Windows Phone 7 devices and soon for Android phones and tablets. Everybody wanted to see how the app worked and some inspectors already had their Windows phones and were evangelizing to others about the time it saves and how easy it is to use.

To our surprise, a sit down hot lunch was served Friday afternoon, followed later by an free open bar and more great finger food, sandwiches and desserts. But wait, that’s not all. We were also treated to entertainment by a fire-eating magician as well.  The photo below doesn't do it justice though.  Can it get any better than this? We are anxious to see how they outdo themselves next year, so if you are within 300 miles of Kansas City, consider attending this fabulous conference next year!"
