Will the Kindle Fire work as a mobile tablet with the mobile software?

What is recommended for a tablet type (i think a phone is just too small) to use on site to capture the field notes to start the report. I would then return to the office, transfer the info to my desktop to complete the report.

Kindle Fire doesn't have a camera or access to the regular Google Market, (or even a microphone if you wanted to use voice recognition) so it's not a very ideal device for inspections nor could be officially supported. I suppose one could try rooting the device to see if Google Market could be installed, but we have no idea if the app would run on it or not, and it certainly wouldn't be very ideal.
