Just a bit of advise from the home inspection trenches or should I say podium. Never, ever, step up to the podium without an outline and sufficient practice time for your intended message. I thought I knew what I was going to say, and I thought I had a good speech ready, but I wasn’t prepared for the coffee blurts.
I just spent the better part of 4 hours putting in some organic links. What are organic links? Organic links are links to related sites, the best organic links are when you have a link to their site on yours, and they have a link back to your site on theirs. Got it? The more relevant the site to your business the better the search engine ranking. That's probably clear as Cowboy coffee if your not already linking up, but the tip below should get you started.
Small, as in pinning up your business card at the local corner store. I generally get about 3 home inspections a year from the various corner store bulletin boards where I've placed some cards. Earlier this week a call came in from one of these cards, it wasnt someone looking for a home inspection, but rather, a member of a local business club that was looking for new members in the area.
Just the other day I was explaining to a group of home inspectors at the local ASHI meeting, the very real possibility that all homes in the future will need to have passed a methamphetamine residue test. Not that I'm not civic minded per say, but, a measly $12.00 per day for jury duty service. With a round trip mileage of 120 miles to the courthouse and back I'm in the hole with just gas and vehicle maintenance. Not to mention the unspecified number of days the trial may last, any sane self employed home inspector has to ask, is there any way out? Of the options to be released from jury duty only one remotely looks like a candidate.
I was Cruising the message boards the other day and came across an entry that stimulated quite a few posts. Not that I take issue with the responses, but… Ok, here’s the post.
